“Joke Sistas” is an unofficial sorority of the Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest which features hilarious women of all ethnicities that understands “we are not a monolith” and are strong advocates for telling it like it is with love, emotional dexterity, and PUNCHLINES! With over 25 years of combined experience, these Joke Sistas will leave you empowered, enlighted, and entertained.

"Born in Atlanta, GA, matured in San Francisco, and now residing in New York City, Jill Weiner is a comedian and writer. Jill participated in the Come and Take it Festival in Houston, TX, placed second in the Trial by Laughter comedy festival, and has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival. She co-produces and co-hosts a weekly, standing-room-only comedy show in Williamsburg called Laf Dance Saloon. She is also the first female champion of the New York City based roast battle, Comedy Fight Club and produces and co-hosts the hilarious and informative podcast, WikiFreakz. When not on stage you can catch Jill slurping soup at one of New York’s hottest diners."
Joanna M. Briley is the founder of Black Women In Comedy Laff Fest and also a premier comedian! As a shining star on the comedy circuit and a true visionary, Joanna created the Black Women In Comedy Laff Fest and produced Joke Sistas to showcase the brightest and funniest Black Women, those who identify as women and those from the LGBTQ+ community, in a safe space. "I believe the Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest represents a close knit sisterhood sort of like an “unofficial sorority” filled with hilarious Black Women who understands the assignment,” Briley says. “We are NOT monolithic, we are each strong advocates for telling it like it is with love, emotional dexterity, and punchlines!"
